Viktor Rapoport was born in raised in Kharkov in the Former Soviet Union. He immigrated to the United States in 1990 and now lives in Sacramento, CA.
In a somewhat typical path for a person of his age and background, Viktor received an engineering degree from Kharkov Polytechnic University and practiced engineering for many decades while carrying on his life-long passion for the arts. Before discovering woodwork, Viktor wrote for a Youth Theater in his native Kharkov. Among Viktor's other passions are history and mythology. You can see it all in his woodwork - it is exquisitely engineered, erudite and whimsical. Viktor brings both drama and comedy into his art.
